Join IPMA-HR Wisconsin Chapter on Wednesday December 12 for an especially timely presentation, “Leadership Transitions and Public Employees.” Our guest presenter is Dennis Dresang, Professor Emeritus of Public Affairs & Political Science and founding director of the La Follette School of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Professor Dresang will present and lead a discussion on the both the mechanics of leadership transitions and things public-sector employees should be ready for during an administration change.

Board members connect regularly with other local public sector HR professionals and also with regional and national IPMA-HR professionals. As a board, we plan chapter activities to encourage professional development and networking within our public sector HR community.
The 2017-2018 year has been largely focused on planning the upcoming Central Region Conference (June 25-27, 2018), which our chapter is hosting in Madison.
Looking ahead, we have many opportunities in the next year to use the resources and contacts we’ve gained this year to plan great activities and expand our chapter. If you or someone you know is interested in serving, please submit the 2018-2019 IPMA-HR Board Nomination Form by Friday, May 25.

Great Turnout at the June 2017 Roundtable: Government Affairs Update
Neil Reichenberg, Executive Director of IPMA-HR International, gave us an update on recent changes to HR laws and regulations, as well as insight into proposed legislation and proposed rule changes that may change the “rules of the road” for the HR functions we do every day. Substantial changes have been proposed to wage and hour, EEOC, and OSHA rules.
